Previously, I had considered where to go for Christmas, and when I saw Iceland on the map, I immediately thought of Mitty. Speaking of the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", it was actually shown to us by Janne in an oral English class six months ago. At that time, we didn't finish the movie in one class, so I found the resources and finished watching it.

Heavy daydreamer Mitty

The always funny Ben Stiller directed such an inspirational movie for losers, and the plot itself is so clichéd that you don't have to worry about spoilers: a loser who dares not speak to his goddess, due to the company's needs, finally embarks on "a trip that can be taken at any time". Personally, I think the highlight is from Iceland onwards, when Mitty sets out on a journey for love and his last job, searching for the LIFE magazine photographer Sean, whom he has admired for many years but never met. It's then that the movie truly begins to unfold its meaning.

After returning, the world hasn't changed for the better, but his life is no longer the same. There's some freshness in the clichés, and the old-fashioned phrase "what you're looking for has always been by your side" is also used.

However, when everyone is guessing what the 25th negative film has captured, a refreshing twist comes. The cover features Mitty working seriously, which is ordinary, but it moves him in an instant.

The soundtrack is really nice, and each song is perfectly combined with the scenery and plot. Before Walter boards the helicopter, his daydream of his goddess singing "Space Oddity" to encourage Major Tom to fly is really beautiful, and Major Tom and Ground Control are also very fitting for the scene at that time, which is great.

Walter seems to have changed himself through several trips, getting drunk on a helicopter, jumping into the icy sea, fighting with sharks, rushing towards an erupting volcano, and climbing the Himalayas to go to Greenland. After returning, he still goes back to his mother and sister, returns to his own city, and even pawns the piano left by his deceased father to get through the difficulties of unemployment. However, he is no longer the daydreamer he used to be, and after meeting his goddess, he confidently holds her hand and asks her to go to a concert together.

He doesn't even go to buy the last issue of the magazine with himself on the cover,
just like Sean waiting for the snow leopard on the snowy mountain for a long time,
when it finally appears, he just looks,
