One day, after turning off the lights, I turned off my phone and lay in bed, but suddenly I wasn't sleepy. Why am I here at this moment? Where have all the familiar people, familiar things, and familiar everything gone? If I had done one more problem five months ago, what would it be like now? I don't know. Maybe this is fate. And why, after passing through the vast crowd, did I get to know you here, come into contact with so many new things that I had never touched before, and have a completely different new life? Is it a coincidence?
Everything that may happen will happen. I accidentally flipped through a passage I wrote at the end of last year: "It's another year-end, and I have a bit of feeling about what to do tomorrow. 2014 will be a year with many things happening, and after the college entrance exam, it will be another turning point. Everyone will go their separate ways, and each will walk their own road. No need to say more, the summer vacation of 2014 is the only thing to look forward to, the only motivation for the remaining days of the third year of high school." Recalling these dreams that seemed unreachable at the time, some have been realized, and some have been completely forgotten. Some planned things were not completed, and some unexpected things happened. Life is full of coincidences, and two parallel lines may also intersect one day. Life is also full of unexpected events, and the kite in your hand may suddenly break free. Maybe this is one of the interesting things about life.
Coming to university, this beautiful and ugly place, what I have seen is the cold and warmth of human relationships, everyone lives for themselves, and rarely considers others' feelings, as long as they are happy, as long as they are satisfied. Originally good friends will also be separated by time and space, and can only exchange formal greetings. What do I feel? Heartache, loneliness, all have. The distance in space is really, really far. What is most feared in university? Fear of loneliness. As the days go by, we become friends from strangers, some become lovers... Similarly, we become group dwellers from solo dwellers, and then move towards cohabitation, and finally become solo dwellers again... Loneliness seems to always accompany people. Is it because we fear loneliness that we choose to fall in love, or because we fear loneliness that we choose to group together? Should I forget the taste of loneliness and devote myself to realizing my dreams? But why do I always deeply feel the helplessness of loneliness when I finish being busy? I'm starting to feel more and more entangled. What am I entangled about? Clearly, I know what path I should take and where to go, so why do I still have to bother with the troubles of loneliness?
I only know that maybe the future is designed by so-called fate and coincidences. At least we have the past, we have each other, and we can grasp the present. Yes, just like Mr. Keating in Dead Poets Society said in his first class, "Carpe Diem," which translates to "Seize the Day." We are powerless against those elusive coincidences and unpredictable fate, but young hearts should know what they want and act on it.
-END-
After reading the article I wrote in my freshman year
I want to watch Dead Poets Society again
Yeah, I'll watch it after I finish this busy period
By the way, today is already the 16th
Fantastic Beasts is out
I really want to go see it on the weekend
