Starting from version 7.2.2, Synology removed the VideoStation package, as well as the HEVC, AVC, and VC-1 codecs, citing that most mobile devices now support these codecs and that this workload can be offloaded to the terminal devices to reduce resource overhead. Without further discussion on this change, here is the method to reinstall VideoStation and the codec package after updating the system.

Download the 007revad/Video_Station_for_DSM_722 script from Github and upload it to the NAS, granting execution permission and running it:

After running, the VideoStation package can be seen as started in the package center. If AME activation fails, you can use the script from imnks to fix it:
